Chasing Redbird by Sharon Creech is about is girl and her trail. Zinny Taylor is the middle child in a family of 8, who feels lonely and slightly neglected. Zinny's sister May has always been the prettier one, and when Jake Boone comes to town and seems to like Zinny, Zinny thinks he is just trying to get to May. Zinny's uncle Nate starts to get sick and Zinny takes him to a little cabin she found while working on her trail. After nearly dying, uncle Nate is OK and after Zinny finds out that Jake really likes her, Zinny learns that it wasn't her fault her Aunt died and to trust a little easier.
I like this book because it was very real book. this book seemed like something that could rally happen. I would recommend this book to someone likes down to earth, good books. I didn't really like how there was so much death involved with this book. It made the book almost sad for me.
I think the theme of the book is finding yourself and forgiveness. Zinny, through working on the trail, and experiencing death, knows herself better. Zinny also has to forgive herself about accidentally causing her Aunt's death. Zinny also has to learn to trust and love. Zinny, through the trail and other experiences learned how to trust and eventually love.I got the pic from httphttp: //cms.westport.k12.ct.us/
